GODFREY – Lewis and Clark Community College soccer fans, in their best Trailblazer blue, will welcome the men’s and women’s soccer teams home from national tournaments with a celebration of two successful seasons.
The event will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23 in The Commons on the college’s Godfrey Campus. Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to join the celebration.
“This was a historical season, with not one, but two teams making it to the NJCAA National Tournaments – under one coach, no less,” President Dale Chapman said. “These coaches and players are to be commended for their hard work and excellence.”
Student Activities Coordinator Jared Hennings will emcee the event, which will also feature speakers including Chapman, Vice President of Student Engagement Sean Hill, Athletic Director Doug Stotler and Soccer Coach Tim Rooney.
Light refreshments will be available.
Both teams brought home District and Regional Championships this year, and took the fight all the way to nationals. They are slated to return today.
The men completed their season at 18-4-1. The women’s team finished 16-4-2, according to NJCAA.org.
“We are proud of both team’s achievements,” Stotler said. “We hope the campus and the community can join us in celebrating them.”
