These courses are designed to present the participant with essential knowledge for entry into exempt positions in the human resource development/personnel function. The programs offer the opportunity to strengthen skills, boost confidence and advance career opportunities. SHRM Essentials® of HR Management The SHRM Essentials® of HR Management is an introductory course offering a comprehensive overview of human resource roles and responsibilities. It gives participants critical knowledge to help reduce potentially costly lawsuits and improves their ability to handle challenging HR issues. Updated in 2013, this course is ideal for those who are just starting out in the human resources profession, or those who are looking for an effective way to boost their employee management skills. Upcoming Course Spring 2015 SHRM Learning System for PHR®/SPHR® Certification Preparation Our Human Resource certification preparation course is designed primarily for individuals seeking the most sought-after HR certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®). This intensive six-week program combines expert instruction with the SHRM Learning System® for PHR®/SPHR® Certification Preparation, so you will learn faster, retain more knowledge and stay on track as you prepare for the exam. For those not seeking certification, this course provides a comprehensive and accelerated option for professional development. Participants gain a generalist point of view, refresh key ideas and concepts, strengthen their understanding of core competencies and increase productivity. The course investment includes all course materials but does not cover registration for the PHR or SPHR examinations, administered through the HR Certification Institute.
