Continuous Quality Improvement

To guarantee our students the best education possible, we must be focused not only on short-term success, but also on the long-term growth and health of L&C as an institution.  To do that, we are committed to the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). These principles focus on:

  • Continually monitoring and assessing our quality and effectiveness as an institution.
  • Clearly defining our goals, objectives, and benchmarks upon which we will evaluate our performance.
  • Regularly soliciting input and feedback from key stakeholders.
  • Institutionalizing periodic and formal progress reviews by department and division.
  • Improving the quality and effectiveness of what we do by applying the lessons learned to future actions.

Assessment

Sound assessment practices throughout the institution are a critical element of CQI. These practices entail the disciplined and continued evaluation of our performance as educators, service providers, and stewards of the public trust.  To provide comprehensive assessments, our institutional strategy concentrates on four performance areas:

  1. Learning and Academic Achievement,
  2. Programs and Services,
  3. Environment and Infrastructure, and
  4. Operations and Management.

These areas encompass every aspect of L&C, and define our focus for assessing quality and effectiveness. This is a big challenge that requires a commitment to CQI and assessment practices at every level of the L&C community.

You’ll find current and archived assessment reports and self-studies, as well as additional information on CQI, here .
