Art

Attention all right-brain students!  L&C offers a great place for you as an art major. We understand the creative urge, its randomness, subjectivity, intuitiveness and synthesizing. You get the big picture. That talent is invaluable in today’s society.

Our art program supplies the training to match your vivid imagination -- to develop new ideas and forms of expression in the studio through graphic design, drawing, painting, two- and three-dimensional design, ceramics, printmaking and photography. Also Web design and computer graphics may be taken through career programs.

Add in courses in art history and appreciation plus general education and you’ll be ready to work in professional studios, design firms, printing companies, and advertising and marketing agencies, or to pursue studies toward a four-year degree at a senior institution.

L&C offers the two routes below to complete associate’s degrees. To transfer as a junior into a BFA program or a BA program with a major in Art, you should select either the AA or the AFA option in consultation with your art department advisor and the four-year institution.

AFA degree for Art

Total credit hours: 61. Preparation for professional work.

AA degree
