The Illinois Department of Employment Security ranks computer support specialist as the number two career with the most annual job openings for graduates with associate's degrees. 

L&C helps you get your foot in the door with an associate's degree in Computer Network & System Technology. You'll have a rock-solid background with some of the latest technologies such as Windows Server, Novell Netware, UNIX/Linux, PC hardware, network security, and Cisco routers. 

Computers are the "brain center" of today's business and industrial operations. As a computer network and system technician, you are the essential go-to, fix-it professional who knows network infrastructure, operating systems, security, and PC hardware and software.  

As an L&C graduate, you can pursue occupations in areas such as computer hardware, network installation, network administration, and systems engineering.  

Below are your options for the Associate in Applied Science degree and a choice of 11 Certificates of Completion or the more advanced Certificate of Proficiency in a specialty.

AAS degree in Computer Network and System Technology

Total credit hours: 66. 

30 and Out AAS degree in Computer Network and System Technology: Anyone who already has an associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may earn an Associate in Applied Science degree in Computer Networking by completing 30 semester hours of approved Computer Network & System Technology courses.

Certificate of Completion in Cisco Network Administrator

Total credit hours: 11. 

Certificate of Completion in Computer Electronics

Total credit hours: 16. 

Certificate of Proficiency in Microsoft Network Specialist

Total credit hours: 37. 

Certificate of Completion in Microsoft System Administrator

Total credit hours: 14. 

Certificate of Proficiency in Network Security

Certificate of Completion in Network Specialist

Certificate of Proficiency in Network and Cisco Router Administrator
