Engineering Technology

Two major factors have evolved in industry today. First, computers, electronics and new technology have moved to the plant floor. Industry is rapidly integrating computers, industrial processes and management systems throughout the enterprise. They go together. Second, as a result, U.S. and foreign companies are in a highly competitive environment.

That means as an engineering technologist, you’ll need a whole new set of interdisciplinary tools to meet today’s standards and challenges. Fast forward to the L&C engineering technology degree.

L&C now offers three options in its Engineering Technology AAS Degree Program:

1. Manufacturing Option. Combines a strong foundation in communication, computer, math, and science skills with up-to-date instruction in technology areas such as CNC, materials, safety, metrology, and statistical process control

2.Management Option. Combines a strong foundation in communication, computer, math, and science skills with course work in accounting, business, economics, and management

3. Customized Option. Allows the student to individualize a curriculum choosing from lists of management and technology electives, which are combined with background courses in technology, math, science, and communication. Fields of emphasis include GIS/GPS, drafting, quality control.

At L&C you’ll receive training to be prepared for a number of placements. Industrial technologists are hired to assist with the design, installation, operation and maintenance of industrial systems of various kinds.
