“Green” is definitely the color of the 21st century. It signifies attention to the environment, conservation of natural resources, and sustainability through prudent development and reuse of materials. If you are interested in the green sciences, check out the L&C program and the new outstanding research facility to open fall 2009.
This facility and centerpiece of the program is The National Great Rivers Research and Educational Center Field Station, a partnership among Lewis and Clark, the University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, and the Illinois Natural History Survey. This national facility opens in fall 2009.
L&C’s already excellent river research programs will find a world-class home over the Mississippi River, where they will continue to produce insights into agribusiness and tourism in Illinois, and the environmental and economic impact of rivers to the state, nation and the globe.
L&C is one of the premier community colleges in the U.S. offering unparalleled undergraduate research for students and faculty, the institution and the region.
You can choose this major and be prepared as a junior to go on to a BS at a four-year institution. Of course, you’ll need to plan with your advisor and the college to make sure you have the required credits in general studies and your major to make the transfer seamless.
Begin your journey into the future of green.
