Transfer Degrees

The focus of freshman and sophomore years at any college or university is on completing the general education requirements.  These years are also an opportunity for you to explore many different subjects before deciding on your a major.  L&C's University Transfer Program provides the same quality educational courses that you would take as a freshman or sophomore anywhere else, but at a much lower cost.  And because we prioritize individual learning, we offer the student-centered classes, faculty, and programs that give you the academic skills to reach your educational goals.

Transferring to a four-year college or university from L&C easy.  All you need to do is:

  • Earn one of the transfer degrees and select L&C courses that match the freshman and sophomore requirements of the four-year school you plan to attend (check with an advisor about course articulation agreements), and
  • Complete an educational plan with a counselor or advisor and follow it.

Transfer of Credits

Courses in our baccalaureate-oriented program are designed to ensure the senior college or university to which you transfer accepts your L&C coursework.  However, the senior institution ultimately determines acceptance of your credit. When making your transfer plans, seek the advice of an academic advisor in the Enrollment Center and at the school you're planning to attend.

The Illinois Articulation Initiative

L&C is participating in a major statewide effort known as the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), which will make transferring to any participating Illinois colleges and universities as smooth as possible. Transferring students who complete the IAI General Education Core Curriculum are guaranteed full general education credit.
