Industrial Technology

Two major factors have evolved in industry today. First, computers, electronics and new technology have moved to the plant floor. Industry is rapidly integrating computers, industrial processes and management systems throughout the enterprise. They go together. Second, as a result, U.S. and foreign companies are in a highly competitive environment.

That means as an industrial technology specialist, you’ll need a whole new set of interdisciplinary tools to meet today’s standards and challenges.

Fast forward to the L&C industrial technology degree.

Industrial technologists are hired to assist with the design, installation, operation and maintenance of industrial systems of various kinds. A controls and instrumentation specialist installs, repairs, troubleshoots, and programs automated manufacturing and process control equipment. Industrial supervisors direct and monitor workers, lead teams, schedule activities and repairs and assist with planning.

At L&C you’ll receive training to be prepared for a number of these placements and more.
