General Education Assessment
Mission / Charter
- Within the context of the Student Learning Assessment conceptual model and established principles/guidelines, develop a general education assessment strategy and implementation plan
- Develop models/rubrics to facilitate faculty work in general education assessment
- Oversee general education assessment activities and reporting
- Represent general education level assessment issues to the Student Learning Committee
- Develop professional development
- Respond to issues, develop new strategies, etc. as these apply to general education level assessment
- Represent general education assessment on any questions related to that subject
General Education Outcome “Lead” Faculty
“Leads” are individual faculty serving on the GEAC who provide the thought leadership and coordination of assessments for specific general education learning outcomes. “Leads” work with course instructors to develop embedded assessments and apply rubrics, and share findings and analyses that can provide insights that benefit all of our faculty and students.
