GODFREY – Beginning Monday, June 18 through the start of the fall semester, access through campus will be closed as contractors work on a roadway project between Erickson and Hatheway.

This new eco-road will utilize pervious pavers and add sidewalks, lighting and other safety features for pedestrians utilizing the main walkway that connects the McPike Math and Science Complex to the historic part of campus.

From the South Entrance, drivers will be able to access Ringhausen, Gillman, the Chapel, the Main Complex, Haskell and Erickson. There will be no through traffic to the north side of campus from this entrance.

From the North Entrance, drivers will be able to access the Main Complex, Security, Trimpe, Alden, the Annex, Montessori, River Bend Arena, Hatheway and the McPike Math and Science Complex.

In addition to the roadway restrictions, the Trent Bridge leading to The Commons will also be closed. Pedestrians trying to access buildings on the west side of campus (River Bend Arena and the McPike Complex) will need to utilize the walkways between Hatheway and Trimpe.

The roadway in front of Erickson (Calhoun) which connects to the main thoroughfare through campus (Madison) will also be repaved, and work there will eliminate the main exit from the Haskell gated lot. A temporary exit will be constructed to allow the proper flow of traffic in and out of this lot.

Directional signs will be placed on campus next week to ensure that visitors can find and access the building where their event will be located.
