Godfrey – This fall semester, the Lewis and Clark Music Department is hosting a variety of entertaining events, all free and open to the public, although donations are welcomed.
Brown Bag Salons will be held at noon on the first Wednesday of each month in the Ringhausen Music Building Atrium. Audience members are encouraged to bring a lunch while they enjoy 50 minutes of entertainment including:
- Sept. 1 – The Travis Mattison Jazz combo
- Oct. 6 - Pauline Stillwell “Piano Music and Pictures”
- Nov. 3 - The Louis Michael Combo
- Dec. 1 - Limited Edition Holiday Concert
An
“Organ Spectacular” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13 in the Benjamin Godfrey Memorial Chapel. This event will feature rich, vibrant organ music from folk songs to hymn settings by local organists Roy Stillwell, Barbara Kramer, Susan Parton Stanard, Nancy Sewell, Ken Rueter, Ray Bentley and Robert Raymond.
A
vocal master class will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15 in the Benjamin Godfrey Memorial Chapel. Please call (618) 468-4732 to register.
The
music department faculty along with special guest will present a recital featuring the music of Chopin, Liszt and Schumann at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24 in the Ringhausen Music Building Atrium.
Applied student recitals will be held Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Nov. 30 at 12:30 p.m. in the Benjamin Godfrey Memorial Chapel.
Several concerts will be held this fall including:

- The Guitar and Percussion Ensembles Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15 in the Ringhausen Music Building Atrium

A first for the department this year is a “Sing-Along Series” which will feature
“Sing-Along Messiah” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 in the Benjamin Godfrey Memorial Chapel.
As a special gift to the community, Lewis and Clark Community College will present the
President’s Holiday Concert at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14 in the Benjamin Godfrey Memorial Chapel.
