    Career Development Courses - 3 credit hour transferrable elective

    • CDEV 130 - Career Development

      CDEV 130 is a 3 credit hour course that assists students in selecting a college major and deciding on a career path. The focus is on career awareness, personal awareness, and educational awareness as they relate to the progress of career choice. Planning skills and self assessment instruments will help identify career options. Decision-making strategies, resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search techniques will be reviewed. This course is offered both face-to-face and online via Blackboard.

    • JOBS 131 - Identifying Career Interests (Career Counseling)

      JOBS 131 is a 1 credit hour 8-week online course designed to assist students in the career decision making process through assessments, research, exploration, and career counseling. This course is completed in Blackboard with one counseling session with the instructor.

    • JOBS 132 - Targeting the Job Market (Resume Writing)

      JOBS 132 is a 1 credit hour 8-week online course designed to help students navigate the job market through examining job resources, employer expectations, job applications, cover letter and resumes. This course is completed in Blackboard.

    • JOBS 133 - Job Seeking Skills (Job Interviewing)

      JOBS 133 is a 1 credit hour 8-week online course focusing on the skills necessary to organize and execute a job search. Students will study networking, job sources, employment interviewing, and negotiating job offers. The course will conclude with a mock job interview with the instructor. This course is completed in Blackboard.

    The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory are offered in CDEV 130 and JOBS 131.
