Trailblazers Sweep Baseball, Softball Twin Bills

GODFREY — It was a clean sweep for the Lewis and Clark Community College baseball and softball teams Wednesday.

The Trailblazers baseball team swept Danville Area College 8-4 and 9-8, while the L&C softball team topped Mineral Area College twice, 11-0 and 3-2.


The Trailblazers scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to slip past MAC in the opener. Sydney Henrichs went the distance on the mound and was 3-for-4 at the plate for L&C. Lexy Fischer and Bethany Muenstermann were each 2-for-3. All three had doubles and Muenstermann had an RBI.

Henrichs scattered five hits struck out four and walked two for the Trailblazers, who ran their record to 13-7.

In the second game, the Trailblazers got a one-hitter from Hannah Rexford. she struck out eight.

L&C had nine hits, including two each for Megan Pfeiffer, Muenstermann and Abby Palen. Kaley Perez and Ally Clay each had doubles.


Connor Pinsker and Zach Seivers got the wins on the mound for the Trailblazers in the twin bill sweep of Danville.

Ernest Plummer and Blake Vandiver each pounded out five hits and had five RBIs for L&C.

L&C is 13-8.
