GODFREY — The Lewis and Clark Community College volleyball team played the first athletic event on the new wood gym floor recently installed at the George C. Terry River Bend Arena on the school’s main campus. The gym floor, which replaces the old artificial rubber-like Teraflex floor, is part of a $2.876 million refurbishment project and will also be used by the school’s men’s and women’s basketball teams, as well as for classes other events. Besides the gym floor, the project includes new classrooms, offices, HVAC system, roof, locker rooms and a weight room. The work is projected to be completed by the end of the calendar year.
