EDWARDSVILLE – Gavin Reames believes he is getting the best of both worlds.
Not only will Reames, a senior pitcher for Edwardsville, get a chance to continue playing the sport he grew up loving, but he will also be able to get a strong college education after choosing Lewis and Clark in Godfrey.
“I’m super excited. It’s going to be awesome. It’s a great school with a great baseball program,” Reames said.
Lewis and Clark is a member of the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Coached by Randy Martz, the Trailblazers were 1-5 this season before the coronavirus wiped out the rest of the schedule. Last year, they went 30-17, two wins shy of advancing to the NJCAA Division II World Series for the first time since 1996.
