L&C Men’s Golf team open their season against strong competition at Rend Lake tournament

WEST FRANKFORT - The Lewis and Clark Community College Men’s Golf team posted a sixth-place finish at the Rend Lake Fall Preview.

John A. Logan College took top honors with an impressive team score of 581. The tournament was played at Franklin County Country Club near Benton, Illinois.

“The Lewis and Clark golf team was greeted by remnants of Hurricane Harvey in their 36-hole golf match,” said Assistant Coach Alan Bruha. “Conditions were cool and cloudy but dry.”

Marc Berdala led the Trailblazers with 76-stroke and 73-stroke rounds for an individual score of 149. Alex Hilliard posted a 159, Gavin Grote came in at 167 and Will Spencer finished up with an individual score of 169. The team finished the 36-hole tournament with a combined score of 644.

The Trailblazers now turn their attention to their home tournament held at Spencer T. Olin golf course in Alton, IL. Full schedule available at
