The L&C men’s basketball team has put out the word to the teams in District 16: Don’t count a game against LC as a win until the final buzzer.
Want proof? Take a look at the latest district statistics that include a pair of Trailblazers leading the league in two offensive categories.
The Trailblazers have lived hard on the 3-point basket and they have the statistics to prove it. LC’s Ephraim Butler, a 5-foot-11 freshman from Moncks Corner, South Carolina, leads District 16 in 3-point field percentage with a .556 mark.
Teammate Jevon Laidler, a 6-4 freshman from Miami, Florida, is No. 6 in 2-point field goal percentage, shooting at a .625 clip.
There’s more. L&C’s DeAngelo Ware, a 6-1 freshman from Bosse High in Evansville, Indiana, is No. 1 in the district in assists per game with 6.2.
“Not many other teams are going to out-quick us,” L&C coach Doug Stotler said. “We’ve been shooting the ball fairly well. We just need to find our defense.”
