GODFREY - Midway through the second half of Thursday night's game against Spoon River College, LCCC coach Doug Stotler called a timeout to settle his players. It seemed they had forgotten how to play with a big lead.
"We were up 23 points and we were slingin' the ball around a little bit," Stotler said with a smile. "I had to refocus them a little."
Up by 23 points? Indeed. The Trailblazers led from wire to wire in a 73-60 victory at the George C. Terry River Bend Arena. The win ended a five-game losing streak for L&C.
"We got a win and that's always important," said Stotler, whose team is 5-14 overall, "but just as important tonight was that we were able to get a bunch a guys playing minutes who hadn't played in three or four games."
