Blazers Blank Lincoln Land to Open Region 24 Play

Article by: Pete Hayes, the Telegraph,

SPRINGFIELD — All things considered, L&C men’s soccer coach Ryan Hodge would just as soon have a consistent pace of play as a bucket full of goals.

Of course, if he can have both, that’s even better.

Hodge’s L&C Trailblazers opened their the NJCAA Region 24 portion of their schedule Wednesday with a 7-0 victory over Lincoln Land. LC came into the game on the heels of a 3-2 win over No. 11-ranked Crowder College Friday. And while the Blazers enjoyed basking in the glow of that victory, it was the opening of region play that was on Hodge’s mind.

“You want to win every game, of course,” Hodge said. “But (region) games are the ones that really count when it comes to getting a first-round playoff bye and home-field advantage in the playoffs. This region is so balanced top to bottom, that you’d better come ready to play from the start.”
