GODFREY — Thanks to more than a few curve balls from NJCAA schedulers, men’s and women’s soccer teams will have plenty of down time prepping for the postseason - or waiting to advance from their region tournaments.
The Lewis and Clark Community College men’s and women’s soccer teams, which both won the regular season region titles and thus home-field advantage in the postseason region tourneys, are in the same boat.
That is, the same boat separated by a week. The 17th-ranked L&C men will open their postseason Saturday, Oct. 26, in a home Region 24 semifinal. If they win the region tourney, they’ll sit until Nov. 9 for a one-game district playoff at home with a national tournament berth on the line.
The No. 7-ranked LC women, meanwhile, are in the midst of a two-week layoff after the end of their regular season. They will begin region tourney play Oct. 31 at home.
