DES PLAINES — After one game in the books, LCCC men’s soccer coach Ryan Hodge knows one thing about his team.
It knows how to play with a lead.
Lewis and Clark Community College jumped out to an early lead, then maintained possession and rolled to a 6-1 victory over Oakton Community College in the season opener in suburban Chicago.
“We moved the ball well today,” Hodge said. “We were able to keep possession lot of the time and move the ball side to side.”
The Trailblazers made good use of their deep bench as well, playing 18 and giving rest to his team, which is scheduled to play at 1 p.m. Sunday at Lake County Community College in Grayslake, following the LCCC women’s team 11 a.m. season opener there.
