Trailblazers Split Twin Bill with Parkland

GODFREY — The Lewis and Clark Community College softball team split a Region 24 doubleheader with Parkland College Tuesday at L&C.
The Trailblazers won the first game 6-4, but dropped the second game to Parkland 8-1.
L&C rallied to win the opener. The Cobras grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but the Trailblazers rallied with three runs in the third inning, one in the fourth and two in the fifth.
The Trailblazers’ Kaitlyn Cooper had a pair of RBIs. Allison Beckman and Lexy Fisher each added and RBI.
Sydney Henrichs, a freshman pitcher from Gillespie, got the win in the circle for L&C. She pitched all seven innings, struck out three and walked one.
In the second game, the Trailblazers led 1-0 after the first inning, but Parkland took the lead with two runs in the third, added two more runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning.
Lauren Meadows had a pair of hits and scored the Trailblazers’ first-inning run. Bethany Muenstermann and Allison Beckman also had hits for L&C.
