L&C Turns Tables on Rend Lake, 77-72

Article by: Pete Hayes, the Telegraph,

GODFREY — The Lewis and Clark Community College Trailblazers are quick learners, evidently.

In just three week’s time, the Trailblazers turned around a 37-point loss to Division I Rend Lake and posted a 77-72 women’s basketball victory over the Warriors Monday night at the River Bend Arena.

So how, exactly, did they do it? According to L&C coach Jaron Young, it wasn’t a big secret.

“We played better defense, we executed our offensive scheme and we shot better,” Young said. “I know (Rend Lake) scored almost 50 points in the first half, but we did play better against then this time.”
