GODFREY — The NJCAA Region 24 men’s soccer tournament title game between Lewis and Clark Community College and Illinois Central College will be played at 2 p.m. Friday on the artificial turf at Gordon Moore Park in Alton.
The game site was changed because of rainfall that has resulted in the natural grass field at L&C’s Tim Rooney Stadium being unplayable.
The winner will advance to the Midwest District Tournament, which is scheduled for Nov. 5-7 at the home field of the Region 11 champion. Other region champions there will include those from regions 4 and 16.
The district winner will receive an automatic berth in the NJCAA Men’s National Soccer Tournament, set for Nov. 15-20 in Tyler, Texas. The district runner-up could still qualify for one of four at-large bids to the national tournament.
