GODFREY – Those who are unsure of what their employment futures may hold can now find some direction with Career Coach at Lewis and Clark Community College.
Career Coach is web-based software that offers students and members of the community free online access to information regarding degrees and certificates offered at the college, as well as information on associated careers in the Metro East and St. Louis areas.
It is designed to help users find a rewarding career by providing information that is specific to the college’s regional economy.
Users can research jobs related to their education and work experience and then view information about current openings, projected openings and wages. They can even prepare a resume using the site’s resume builder tool.
“Career Coach is one more useful tool L&C offers to students, potential students and community members,” said Terry Lane, director of Career and Veteran Services at Lewis and Clark. “It provides regional and national job openings information based on data from, a well-known and often-used employment search engine. The data is updated hourly, so users are always assured of getting current information. Veterans can also enter their MOC (military occupation code) and Career Coach will match it to similar civilian careers.”
Prospective students who aren’t sure what they want to do for a living can use Career Coach’s quick online career assessment (or interest inventory) to find out what careers and fields of study might suit them best. A longer, more detailed questionnaire is also available on the site.
Users can also search keywords and see careers and degrees at Lewis and Clark that might interest them.
Although Career Coach doesn’t require a log in, users can register for a free account and save their information, resumes and bookmarks to access later.
Career Coach can be accessed by visiting and clicking on the Career Coach banner, or by visiting directly.
