GODFREY — Area colleges are taking precautions as they address coronavirus concerns.

Lewis and Clark Community College Interim President Lori Artis said the school has sent the Center for Disease Control’s COVID-19 guidelines to all employees and students, encouraging them to wash their hands, practice social distancing, stay home when they are sick and avoid hand-to-face contact whenever possible.

“We are meeting regularly with our emergency operations team on campus to discuss our plans and current best practices in terms of cleaning campus, and planning communications for employees and students,” Artis said.

Artis said all campus events are expected to go on as planned.

“So far it has not impacted any of our events on campus or our plans for our 50th anniversary,” she said.
