Up to 30% of waste in a landfill is compostable. Imagine how much of an impact we could make if everybody composted their food scraps. Get a bucket with a sealable lid, and set it next to your trash can. Any leftover fruits, veggies, egg shells, coffee grounds, and dry papers go in. When the bucket fills, take it outside and start a pile with your food scraps and mix in dry leaves and you’re on your way! Over time, the organic matter will break down, and eventually, you’ll end up with something close to soil!
