Transfer Degrees
Transferring to a four-year college or university from L&C is easy. Essentially, you'll be taking courses to fulfill the freshman and sophomore requirements at the institution of your choice. To get started, talk with an advisor today to create an educational plan.
Transfer of Credits
L&C has worked closely with many schools to ensure a smooth transition for students who want to begin coursework at L&C before transferring to a specific program at another school. Courses in our baccalaureate-oriented program are designed to ensure the senior college or university to which you transfer accepts your L&C coursework. However, the senior institution ultimately determines acceptance of your credit. When making your transfer plans, seek the advice of an academic advisor in the Enrollment Center and at the school, you're planning to attend.
The Illinois Articulation Initiative
L&C participates in a major statewide effort known as the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), which will make transferring to any participating Illinois colleges and universities as smooth as possible. Transferring students who complete the IAI General Education Core Curriculum are guaranteed full general education credit.
2 + 2 Programs
Students who plan to pursue specific majors at a 4-year institution can benefit from a 2+2 program. These agreements allow students to efficiently progress toward the completion of their Bachelor's degree by following a specific curriculum at Lewis and Clark and the participating institution. 2+2 agreements can help ensure transfer students are well prepared when entering competitive programs as well. Students should contact their advisor for information about participating in these programs.
Transfer Agreements
L&C maintains transfer agreements, listed below, with several four-year institutions. Agreements may include individual requirements. Students are encouraged to talk with an advisor about specific transfer agreements.
