    Online Faculty/Staff Workshops

    One-hour online faculty workshops for using Blackboard Learn and faculty/staff workshops for using Blackboard Collaborate will be offered Monday through Friday during the week of March 23rd and the week of March 30th as follows:

    Morning

    • 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. – Communicating with Your Students through Blackboard
    • 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. – Adding Lecture Notes and Other Materials in Blackboard
    • 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. – Using Blackboard’s Collaborate for Real-time Classwork and Meetings

    Afternoon

    • 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. – Communicating with Your Students through Blackboard
    • 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. – Adding Lecture Notes and Other Materials in Blackboard
    • 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. – Using Blackboard’s Collaborate for Real-time Classwork and Meetings

    Communicating with Your Students through Blackboard

    In this session users will learn how to place the email tool on the navigation frame of their courses and send emails to one or all of their students. They will learn about the announcement tool and how to use it to notify students of changes or upcoming events.  Finally, they will add the discussions board to their courses and be taught how to carry on asynchronous discussions with their students.     Adding Lecture Notes and Other Materials in Blackboard

    Here, users will first learn how to add a content page to their courses.  We will then discuss adding a link to their course syllabus and creating folders to hold their lecture materials.  Included will be information on using PowerPoints, MS Word documents, and PDF files. Link to registration

    Using Blackboard’s Collaborate for Real-time Classwork and Meetings

    In this sessions, users will learn how to use Collaborate, our web-conferencing software. They will be given an overview of the software which will include knowing how to create a session, understanding the different user roles, chatting with students through texts, and learning how to add and share content, such as PowerPoints and web sites.     Office Hours

    The Technology Enhanced Learning staff is offering online office hours for faculty from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday during the week of March 23rd and the week of March 30th.  If you’d feel you need some extra assistance, please join us in Collaborate.
