Continues the design and construction of buildings as systems of space, structure, and environmental control that interact with environmental and cultural systems. Students learn how a building is made and why it is designed and constructed in a specific manner. Building science and technology with an emphasis in the process of sustainable design is explored. Structural systems of buildings are broken down and examined piece by piece in order to enhance the students' understanding of what makes up a structure or dwelling. Building materials, including sustainable materials, are introduced and studied.
