L&C’s pre-engineering program positions you for entry as a junior into a four-year college or university. At L&C, you can major in a variety of engineering areas: chemical, civil, computer, electrical, industrial/manufacturing, mechanical and general.
For other engineering majors - for example, aeronautical, agricultural, and nuclear - you can work closely with the transfer institution and your adviser to select appropriate courses.
Regardless of your interest area, L&C’s program is specifically designed for completion of your baccalaureate degree at a senior institution. Plan with your adviser no later than the start of your second year at L&C to make sure you meet the general education and engineering requirements of your transfer institution.

Engineering Pathways
Engineering Pathways is a cohort-based experience. Students will complete four semesters of work at L&C with a cohort of other students in the same program. Those who complete their courses with the required grades and cumulative GPA will earn their Associate in Engineering Science degree from Lewis and Clark and be guaranteed entrance into U of I’s Grainger College of Engineering, a top-rated program in the country. learn more...
