IRS Form 1098-T

IRS form 1098-T Tuition Statement is an annual information statement only and is intended to serve as a guide for taxpayers in determining a student's eligibility for potential tax credits or deductions. The information being reported to the IRS verifies a student’s enrollment with regard to certain eligibility criteria.

Lewis and Clark Community College reports eligible tuition expenses in Box 1: Payments Received for Qualified tuition and related expenses during the calendar year Jan. – Dec. In addition, the 1098-T provides information on the amount of scholarships/grants received, any adjustments made for prior years' tuition or scholarships/grants, whether the student was enrolled at least half-time, and if some or all of Box 1 is for the upcoming semester Jan. - Mar.

For more information on eligibility rules, see:

Lewis and Clark cannot provide tax advice. A student’s accountant, tax preparer, or the IRS can best assist with specific questions related to a student’s individual tax return. The IRS expects taxpayers to maintain adequate records to support any information used when preparing their individual tax returns.

Electronic 1098-T

Access to your 1098-T will be available by Jan. 31 each year, so you don't have to wait for it to arrive in the mail to complete your tax return, and you have the ability to print a copy when you need it.

  • Go to www.tsc1098t.com
  • Enter the Site ID: 10590
  • User Name: Your Lewis and Clark Student ID # (7 digits, including zeros, found on student statement or class schedule)
  • Password (First Time Login): Last four digits of your SSN

***If you previously logged in, you would have changed your password***

For security reasons, you will then be prompted to change your password. Enter your old password (last four digits of your SSN) and then create a new password. The new password must be seven characters and contain at least one numeric character.

Once you have entered your new password, you will be presented with the online consent form.  Read the Online Consent Form for the requirements and specifications. If you agree, click on “Consent."

IRS regulations state that each student who wishes to receive their 1098-T electronically must also provide his/her consent electronically.

Once you consent, you will NOT be mailed a 1098-T and must return to view/print a copy of your 1098-T. Your consent will apply to the current year and any years after unless consent is revoked.

If you do not consent to receive your 1098-T electronically, a paper copy will be mailed to your address on record with the college.
