Easter Basketweave Themed Cake

Hop into the art of basketweave cake decorating just in time for Easter! In this fun, hands-on class, you’ll learn the fundamental techniques of piping basketweave and buttercream grass and finish off with rope borders to create a stunning Easter-themed cake. Add to your cake by bringing your own favorite Easter accents like candy eggs, chocolate bunnies and other treats you may like to incorporate to personalize your cake! All other supplies will be provided.

Pilot Ground School Classes

Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, IL, now offers Pilot Ground School classes. Students interested in flight training must complete ground training, as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot and Commercial Pilot are all FAA exam preparation courses that will satisfy the mandatory requirements for passing the Federal Aviation Administration written tests as the first step for a hobby, a career in aviation, or to update “rusty pilots” who want to get back into flying. These courses may be taken in conjunction with or independent of additional airplane flight training lessons not provided by L&C. Optional field trips outside the classes may be offered. The registration fee for each class is $350. For registration, students are required by the FAA to provide photo identification, such as a Driver’s License, at the first class, along with a birth certificate or passport and $75 for books and materials. Registration deadline is one week prior to classes.

Yoga-Saturday Soul

This class is for anyone who enjoys yoga and its many benefits. An early morning yoga practice will help you get energized for the day, relieve stress, and reset your mind, body, spirit and soul. This is especially important during the cold, dark days of winter. During the course, we will focus on the fundamentals of yoga, including posture alignment, breathwork and meditation. Participants will reap the many benefits of yoga, such as relaxation, improved flexibility and balance, increased physical strength and energy, and better digestion. Please bring a personal floor mat.
