The mission of the Student Government Association's (SGA) Hygiene Closet is to provide free common hygiene products to students who need them throughout the year.
Locations
The closet is currently located on the L&C's Godfrey campus.
Donations
Donations will help stock the closet for regular student use, as well as provide items for giveaway events.
SGA holds hygiene item drives throughout the year. For information on upcoming events, please visit the college’s Facebook Events page, https://www.facebook.com/lewisandclarkcc/events.
Outside of formal drives, donations are accepted year-round. All donations must be new, within their expiration date and sealed in their original packaging.
Here’s how you can help:
- Products can be dropped off at Campus Safety at the corner of Godfrey Road and Elm Street in Godfrey. Donations must be new, within their expiration date and sealed in their original packaging.
- Items may also be purchased from the Closet’s Amazon Wish List. Purchases can be sent directly to the closet, c/o Student Government Association, Lewis and Clark Community College, 5800 Godfrey Rd., Godfrey, IL 62035. Amazon Smile users can increase the impact of their donation for no charge simply by adding the Lewis and Clark Community College Foundation as their charity of choice when making their purchase.
- The closet will also accept cash donations through checks payable to Lewis and Clark Community College with “hygiene closet” written in the memo. Learn how on the L&C Foundation page.

- Soaps, shampoos and body washes
- Dental hygiene products like toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Menstruation products like tampons and pads
- Childcare products like diapers and baby wipes
- Hand sanitizer and lotions
- Household products like laundry detergent, toilet paper and paper towels
