Music Performance
You’ll gain a solid background in general studies, plus music courses that range from music theory to applied instruction in every division of musical instrumentation: keyboard, ensemble, wind, percussion, strings, and voice. Electives will also include the study and performance of jazz, spirituals, opera, Broadway, electronic music and non-Western music.
The AFA degree program also features vocal performances through Limited Edition and a practicum in musical theater.
If you intend to major in music business, music theory, jazz studies, jazz performance, theory/composition, sacred music or music pedagogy, you will follow curriculum guidelines that may vary from those specified in the AA, AS or the AFA Degree.
