Lewis and Clark's Fine Art program expands your creative and critical thinking skills and prepares you for transfer to a four-year institution.
Our program offers foundational courses in studio art, as well as informative and insightful courses in Art History, Non-Western Art and Women in Art.
At L&C, you will have the opportunity to work closely with your instructors, who are also highly experienced professional artists, in hands-on studio courses that include:
- Basic Design
- Three-Dimensional Design
- Drawing
- Painting
- Ceramics
- Printmaking
- Photography
- Graphic Design
- Figure Drawing
As a Fine Art student, you will also have the opportunity to submit your artwork to the annual Lewis and Clark Student Art Exhibition, which is professionally installed in the Hatheway Gallery each spring, and to showcase your artwork at formal exhibitions across the region. Learn more at the Student Art Exhibition page.
By completing your Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree at Lewis and Clark, you will have the foundational skills and knowledge in studio art to successfully transfer to a four-year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts program at a much lower cost than if you started at a four-year college or university.
L&C’s 2+2 transfer agreement with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville guarantees that all of your L&C credits will transfer seamlessly.
