Have Your Event on Our Campus

Lewis and Clark offers several beautiful locations for hosting your event, from corporate meetings and social gatherings to performances and weddings.

Facilities Rental

All reservations are made by contacting the Campus Events office. We currently book events two years into the future, so securing your reservation well in advance of your event date is suggested for the best availability. Room set-up, custodial services, security and audio-visual support, are provided for all events if needed.

Catering

Lewis and Clark has a list of fantastic approved caterers who will provide all food and alcohol needs for your event. The approved caterers’ professional staff and coordinator will help you plan your event to ensure a quality event that is sure to be remembered with delicious food and drinks in one of our beautiful locations.

Our Event Spaces

The Commons

The CommonsThe Commons, located on L&C's Godfrey Campus, seats up to 550 people (for dining) and rents for $850, plus the cost of catering, which is contracted through your chosen approved caterer.

The room has a dance floor and is equipped with a computer projection system and two large screens for showing slideshows, DVDs, etc.

The stage will seat a maximum of 20 people for a head table. There is a Steinway grand piano in the room that can be rented for $100. Contact the Campus Events office if interested in using the piano for an event.

The room will be set up according to renters' instructions with 6-foot round tables or 8-foot rectangle tables and cleaned after the event for no additional charge.

Benjamin Godfrey Memorial Chapel

The ChapelThe Benjamin Godfrey Memorial Chapel was built in 1854. In 1979, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Illinois as "one of the six most authentic copies of New England church architecture beyond the Northeastern United States." Some of the original panes of glass remain in the windows.

There are two aisles in the chapel with no center aisle. It seats 200 people and rents for $400 for weddings. This includes one hour for rehearsal and four hours for the wedding.

Renters will have to provide their own officiant for the ceremony. The grand piano can be used for an additional $100 fee. Contact the Campus Events office if interested in using the piano for an event. The organ cannot be used unless played by a member of the Lewis & Clark Music Department.

Renters may use the restrooms in the chapel basement for dressing. No other rooms in the chapel are available for rental or use.

No food or drinks are allowed. Also, individuals are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages on campus.

Availability

The Chapel has limited availability for rental and is only available during the periods of May 15 – August 22 and December 25 – January 2.

Ahlemeyer Atrium - Trimpe Building

Trimpe ATCThe Ahlemeyer Atrium in Trimpe (formerly known as the Advanced Technology Center or ATC) on L&C's Godfrey Campus seats 200 people and rents for $550, plus the cost of catering, which is contracted through the approved caterer of your choice.

This room is equipped with a computer projection system and a screen for showing slideshows, DVDs, etc.

The stage in the room is retractable. There is no dance floor. The room will be set up according to renters' instructions with 6-foot round or 8-foot rectangle tables and cleaned after the event for no additional charge.

Hatheway Cultural Center

The Hatheway GalleryThe Hatheway Cultural Center hosts performers, entertainers and educators from all over the world, including the National Band of New Zealand, Phoenix Boys Choir, the U.S. Navy Commodores and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. The St. Louis Ballet Company and numerous regional dance studios have performed here frequently. Dramatic works and musicals such as "The Crucible," "Bitterroot" and "Kiss Me Kate" have also been staged here.

In addition to national and international performers, we showcase high school, collegiate and community musical ensembles and serve as a venue for community events.

Since the building's renovation and re-dedication in 2011, we have added a multipurpose room (formerly a gymnasium) that is available to rent for wedding receptions and a variety of other events.

Leclaire Room at N.O. Nelson

The Leclaire Room at N.O. NelsonThe historic Leclaire Room on the N.O. Nelson Campus in Edwardsville is the perfect location for your next event and can accommodate up to 280 guests. With its exposed ceiling, large windows, natural light, spacious atrium and pristine grounds, the Leclaire Room is the perfect setting for any wedding reception, fundraiser, class reunion or celebration.

This room is equipped with a computer projection system and double screens for displaying your presentation or memories. Choose your own room layout with 6-foot round or 8-foot rectangle tables, along with dance floor availability, special tables and all the finishing touches that make your event unique.
