GODFREY–Lewis and Clark Community College’s Nursing (ADN) program is opening its doors on Thursday, March 12, to prospective students who want to learn more about a potential career in Nursing.

From 5-7 p.m., guests will gain general information about LC’s program, take tours of the state-of-the-art Templin Nursing Building and simulation labs, listen to a student nursing panel, interact with educational exhibits, take part in skills demonstrations, and more.

“Lewis and Clark’s Associate Degree Nursing program provides hands-on learning experiences and support to prepare individuals for rewarding and lucrative careers in healthcare,” said Director of Nursing Britt Quigley.

Students begin by applying to Lewis and Clark and taking pre-Nursing courses. A separate application (which can be found on the program’s home page) is required for admission into a Nursing cohort each year.

New this spring, LC has discontinued its TEAS entrance exam for this selective admissions program. Instead, admission is decided based on each student’s application, including grades, certifications, and other prerequisites.

Program graduates meet the requirements to apply for the NCLEX-RN board exam, which they need to pass to earn their Registered Nursing license. With that license, they can go right to work if they choose, or pursue a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Many scholarships are available for Nursing students at LC. Visit www.lc.edu/scholarships to learn more.

Fall enrollment at LC begins Monday, March 16.
