SPRINGFIELD – Announced today, Sept. 14, 2026, Lewis and Clark Community College has been awarded $2,369,150 to establish a new Manufacturing Training Academy focused on automation, industrial maintenance systems, process control, and robotics. The investment will allow the college to enhance facilities, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, and expand workforce training opportunities in some of the manufacturing sector’s most in-demand fields. As a regional workforce leader, Lewis and Clark seeks to create new pathways for students to earn industry-relevant credentials and secure high-paying technical careers close to home. The academy will also deepen partnerships with local manufacturers, ensuring training aligns with employer needs while helping businesses address ongoing skilled workforce shortages.
