GODFREY – Anderson Healthcare has donated a lead gift of $1,000 to a fundraiser by Mandie Clark, a hospital employee and alumna of Lewis and Clark Community College’s Nursing program.

Clark collected donations to start the True North Nursing Scholarship for students at LC. Her fundraising efforts ran in conjunction with an inaugural Galentine’s Day Celebration for the public that was held Saturday, Feb. 7, at Post Commons in Alton.

True North Aesthetics Co., founded by Clark, planned the women’s health and wellness event designed to uplift women, support local businesses, and kick off fundraising for True North’s Nursing Scholarship. Post Commons donated the venue.

“I’m honestly still in amazement at what we accomplished,” Clark wrote in a Facebook post. “Guests enjoyed exclusive vendor specials, a curated raffle filled with amazing products, and a night of connection, community, and joy. Guests also brought toiletries to support a local women’s shelter.”

The event attracted more than 200 women from the community. The event, a Facebook fundraiser, and Anderson Healthcare’s gift resulted in thousands raised for the scholarship.

Additional gifts came in from Good News Brewing Company and a Give Back Day held with Exo in Edwardsville.

To date, Clark has raised more than $5,000 for the scholarship.

Clark graduated from LC in 2014 and has worked for Anderson Hospital since 2018.

“Anderson is home,” Clark said.

Clark enjoys her work as a nurse and has been able to add more to her plate. She founded True North Aesthetics Co. in 2025 and operates out of Fitness for the Soul in Alton, Illinois. She was inspired to start the business after losing more than 100 pounds.

“Learning to feel truly comfortable in my own skin took time and self-reflection,” Clark said.

Clark is passionate about helping people navigate their own path to self-acceptance, healing, and empowerment.
