Our FREE lighted holiday trail is back for a second year

6-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays

UPDATE: Due to Inclement weather, the Saturday, Dec. 16 event is canceled. There will be no further dates scheduled in 2023.

Celebrating the Holidays with Our Community

Hiking Through the Holidays is a campus and community event developed by Lewis and Clark’s strategic efforts to build and support a transparent and inclusive campus culture (Key Directions 3 & 4 of L&C's Strategic Plan. Each year, we invite our entire community to enjoy our campus's beauty and share the joy of the holiday season with us. Hot cocoa is always free, but look out for some special event nights this year.

Special Nights

  • Saturday, Nov. 25 – Opening Night!
  • Saturday, Dec. 2 – Free Kids Holiday Crafts
  • Saturday, Dec. 9 – L&C Holiday Carolers perform at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 16– Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming for a visit from 6-9 p.m.! (canceled due to inclement weather)
  • L&C's Mascot Blazer will make appearances on Dec. 1, 8 & 15

High School Night on the Trail

New this year, high school students & their families are invited to hike the lighted holiday trail at L&C during this exclusive event from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023. Free hot chocolate and exclusive L&C merch for those in attendance!

Parking is free and located behind the McPike Math and Science Complex. There is no cost for this family-friendly hiking adventure, which starts on the west side of campus, near the Andy Simpson Tennis Complex. Enter the trailhead through the tennis pavilion and follow the lights and signage.

Please note that because our trail takes place in a natural setting on campus, it is not ADA-compliant. Please wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to walk on uneven terrain.

Should the trail be closed for inclement weather at any time during the season, updates will be posted here and on the college’s Facebook page.
