“The Always Late TV Movie Awards is a fun, colorful, come-as-you-are film festival that showcases excellence in independent film,” Edwards said. “I couldn’t be happier to bring this event to my alma mater, Lewis and Clark Community College.”

This year’s line-up has expanded into a free, two-day festival, on Saturday and Sunday, March 23-24. The weekend will include film screenings, workshops and live music from the Steve Ewing Band. Ewing is currently a member of St. Louis powerhouse The Urge.

Mary Jayne will return to host this year’s award show, along with model/actress/kickboxer Ashley Pryor.

Hosting duties will be shared with model/actress/kickboxer Ashley Pryor, whose credits include “Schmetterling,” “Bonnie Conway, P.I.” and “Local Ambition.”

Director Eiichi Takahashi, whose film, “Sakura,” has earned multiple nominations, is scheduled to fly in from Japan to attend the festival.

The ALTV Festival kicks off Saturday, March 23, with a full day of movie screenings, including local, national and international films.

Saturday’s screenings will be followed by an Improv Comedy Workshop, which is open to everyone, no matter their experience level.

Those attending Saturday’s events can scan a QR code and provide feedback on the movies they’ve viewed.

Sunday’s festivities start with live music from the Steve Ewing Band at 4 p.m., followed by the red carpet at 5:45 p.m., and the ALTV Awards Show at 7 p.m.

All festival events (including parking) are free and open to the public.

According to Edwards, none of the festivities require black-tie attire. All events are casual and come-as-you-are.
